Can you believe that it's already October? The year has gone by so fast, and Halloween is already right around the corner. If you're like us, you just love this time of the year! Halloween is such a fun holiday, from the costumes to the candy, and of course - classic Halloween movies!
Whether you're looking to do a monthlong marathon, or just watch a classic on Halloween night, classic movies and specials only make the holiday that much more fun. While some Halloween movies are just a bit too spooky, we've compiled our list of the best family-friendly Halloween movies. So sit back, pop some popcorn, and enjoy some flicks with the fam!
  • Hocus Pocus: Hocus Pocus is a Disney film that stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the terrifying Sanderson sisters, who are brought to present times after being dead since 1693. This movie is spooky and hilarious, making it a true Halloween classic. While it is family-friendly, it might be a little scary for very young kids.
  • Halloweentown: Halloween is a cult classic Disney Channel Original Movie from 1998 that is beloved by millennials. this super family-friendly movie tells the story of Marnie, a 13-year old girl who discovers she is a witch and travels to the secret world of Halloweentown to spend time with her grandmother, played by the incredible Debbie Reynolds. Plus, this movie has 3 sequels! Marathon anyone?
  • The Addams Family: Another Halloween hit to come out of the 1990s, The Addams Family follows the classic Addams family members as they reunite with Uncle Fester.
    Dark and laugh-out-loud funny, this film is such a classic! And some would even argue the sequel, Addams Family Values, is even better!
  • Hotel TransylvaniaHotel Transylvania is an animated family feature that follows Dracula as he plans the 118th birthday party for his adventurous daughter, Mavis.   • It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown: Now this one is a throwback! This Halloween special is arguably one of the most famous Halloween features of all time. Watch the Peanuts gang celebrate Halloween in this beloved holiday special from the 1960s.
  • The Haunted Mansion: This Disney film based on the classic Walt Disney World attraction starring Eddie Murphy is funny and spooky. While it's funny and has that haunted flair, it also has moments of courage, bravery, and family values.
