Need something to keep the kids busy during March Break?

While kids love to have a week off from school, they can start to get worked up and cabin fever when they’re inside the house for too long. Plus, it’s always a great idea to get your kids out of the house and engaged in fun activities.

Major Canadian brands Indigo, Toys R Us, and Cineplex are all offering special March Break activities you can attend with your kids to keep them busy and engaged all week long.

The best part? The Toys R Us and Cineplex events are totally free!

Since spring break is a different week province to province, each company’s events will happen in your province on different weeks.

The spring break weeks are:

  • British Columbia: March 18-March 29
  • Alberta: Calgary March 22-March 29 Edmonton: March 25-March 29
  • Saskatchewan: March 29-April 5
  • Manitoba: March 25-March 29
  • Ontario: March 11-15
  • Quebec: March 4-Mar 8

Cineplex is offering $2.99 movies all day long during March Break. The movies start playing at 11 am. The same 4 movies are playing each day.

The movies are:

  • The Grinch
  • Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups
  • Smallfoot
  • Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Gindelwald

Chapters-Indigo is hosting free events for kids every day during March Break.

The events start each day at 11 am local time. These events feature fun building activities with toys like LEGO, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, and more.

Toys R Us

Toys R Us is hosting some great events every day during March Break.

Bonus: Not only are they hosting free events were your kids can learn and play, but you will also get a free $5 Toys R Us shopping card when your child participates in an event!

Their events run from 1-3, so you would have time to go to an Indigo event or Cineplex movie beforehand!

The Toys R Us schedule of events is:

  • Monday: Dragon Trainers Unite! – Celebrate the return of How to Train Your Dragon with a puzzle make & take and tote bag giveaway
  • Tuesday: Design & Create a Bracelet – Create a unique bracelet with the KumiKreator from Spin Master
  • Wednesday: It’s Morphin’ Time! – Take part in Power Rangers training activities and get some free swag
  • Thursday: Build a LEGO City Dragster – Make and take your own dragster
  • Friday: Express Yourself with Beads – Make and take a unique bracelet or keychain with the Alphabet Bead DIY activity

Please note that most of the events work on a first come first serve basis, so we recommend you arrive a little bit early to ensure your child gets a spot.
